It happened on the 300 block of North Broad Street on Sunday, Feb. 26, the department said in a statement. After getting into a fender bender around 3:40 a.m., investigators say the 38-year-old victim pulled over to exchange information.
But the suspects, the driver and the passenger of the other car, exited their vehicle and "assaulted the victim," according to police. As the victim drove away, authorities say the suspect passenger pulled a gun from his waistband and fired two shots. No injuries were reported, the department noted.
The suspect vehicle is described as a red, two-door coup, possibly an Infiniti, with a sunroof and damage to its front end, police said. It was last seen near the corner of Front and Berks Streets.
The first suspect, believed to be the driver, was a 6-foot-tall white man, about 20 years old with a bald head and a tattoo on the left side of his face, detectives wrote. He was wearing a dark shirt and jeans.
Suspect number two, the passenger, was also described as a 6-foot-tall white man around age 20, they continued. He had a short, trimmed beard, was wearing a white hoodie, and was armed with a black handgun, police said.
